Liability Waiver
This waiver of liability includes any risk associated with attending one to one or group sessions at Consider It Therapy, engaging in virtual sessions online, or attending any events, workshops or other services provided by Consider It Therapy (“us”, “we”, “our”).
Clients should understand that our therapists do not act as medical professionals. Our services are not offered as a substitute for clinical mental health care or medical care. They are not intended to diagnose, treat or cure any mental health or medical condition.
Clients will understand and agree that they are fully responsible for their own well-being during their sessions and for their subsequent choices and decisions. Clients will understand that as a practice, we may share notes between therapists when necessary, for example, if you change therapists within our practice. Only practitioners working with you will see your notes, which will always be done sensitively and confidentially. The only exception to this is where there is an overriding welfare need that may require further discussions with key members of the team, your therapist’s supervisor, or relevant third parties. In these circumstances, details will be shared on a need to know basis, for clinical needs, and will be recorded within your notes. Clients will understand that we will require to hold the contact details of your GP together with the contact details of somebody we can contact in an emergency.
Clients will also understand that all comments and ideas offered by a therapist are solely to aid the client in achieving their defined goals or in having a confidential conversation with a qualified therapist to improve or enhance their mental well being or resilience. The client will be able to give informed consent to their therapist to assist them in achieving such goals during contracting.
Clients will be aware that they will receive therapy per UK law, and any contractual disputes will be subject to UK laws.
As UK therapists, we are required to work within the ethical requirements of a relevant Accrediting Body (UKCP, BACP, BABCP, HCPC, etc.) and to hold relevant Professional and Public Liability Insurance.
